Red Herrings

For school I have been learning about red herrings.

A red herring is the introduction of an irrelevant point into an argument. Some one may think ( or they may want us to think ) it proves his side, but it really doesn't.

There is a really helpful book called The Fallacy Detective. There are 36 lessons on to recognize bad reasoning.
